Lost momentum

Here why having a streak habit truly helps.
Last year I shipped 12 plugins in 12 months. Super prolific. But this year, I lost momentum in April during a super busy period where I was working multiple jobs all at once. I’ve since stopped launching new plugins… That’s 4 months of lost momentum.
In theory, being consistent should be the easiest thing for me. You’re talking to the guy who has a 1300 day streak for daily writing, and 200+ day streak of daily code commits.
Yet I dropped the ball on plugins.
Why??
Because lack of structure. No streak mechanism. No real target after I hit 12 plugins in 12 months. I just kind of went on cruise mode. Then work happened, and it gets easy to convince yourself that you’ll just skip this month because you’re so busy and tired. And then the next, and the next. And before you know it… 4 months gone.
It can happen to anyone.
Even if you have other projects where you’re consistently making progress.
Even for the most disciplined and consistent.
Time to get back on it for my Carrd stuff!

@haideralmosawi Yes!
@knight Got many apps to track streaks actually. But the intention is the key I guess

Very true! Targets/streaks can help us know what we’re committing to. Otherwise we get lost in the fog of possibility
