In some seasons of life, maintaining is winning. – @AlexHormozi

This spoke to me. Because it is 1000% me right now.

I’m just maintaining.
For the past few months, for my burnout.
Had been so for probably the past few years, in fact.

The conditions are not ripe for me to chase my dreams.
So all I can do is to try hard to keep the dream—and fire—alive.

Just stoking embers every morning, to prevent them from going out altogether.
No bonfires, just soft glowing coals.

There’s some comfort in knowing that in some seasons of life, just watching the soft glowing coals is winning.

In fact, come to think of it, I think in all seasons, that’s winning.
Because maintaining is the hardest thing.
Because life always throws you a curveball – there’s always something.
Because the world is always trying to distract you.

Just maintaining is winning. Period.

The big winners are all maintainers to start with.
They just happen to have the right conditions come together just once, while they were doing their thing, maintaining.

Maintaining is winning.
