Make sense or make money

When you get older, everything has to make sense or make money.

Engaging with like-minded indie hackers to learn from one another - why bother?
Entertainment like watching tv, video games, hobbies - who has time for that?
Coffees that I used to go for without any agenda, just for serendipity - gone.
Freely helping others, volunteering, doing projects for public good - bye.
Tweeting fancy stuff and complaints or bait to build an audience - yuck.
Connections I used to want to keep warm for networking - nah.
Old friends whom I would freely give my time to - no more.
Projects I used to do for fun, to “build in public” - bleh.

You can say that’s just being an asshole. Or selfish. Or cold.
Maybe it is.

But I just don’t care anymore.
I can’t.

A lot of the bullshit and fluff naturally trims away, because there just isn’t enough time, money or energy. And years left, of this one wild and precious life.

Make sense, or make money.
