Margin > materials

The most successful people I know spend their money to get:
- Time to think
- Sleep that works
- Exceptional health
- A life without much noise
Very few of them are buying “stuff.”
They invest in margin, not materials.
I like this approach to life.
Use money to buy things that empower you achieve things that money cannot buy, instead of buying more material pleasures.
I’ve never chased after material goods. Cars, fancy watches, nice dinners, the latest iPhone… all were not on my radar. My addiction was to buying experiences. Travel. Sports. Adventure. Learning something new. A skill.
But splurging on experience makes for nice memories and stories but doesn’t often give back, compound and snowball into something bigger.
Buying back time, investing in sleep, health, peace, do that. It creates space and energy, to go after more things in life.
It’s leverage.
Leverage for more life, a better life, a deeper life.
