Mental strength hack

I saw a random video on Facebook that asked an expert, “What’s the easiest way to have mental strength?”

His answer:

“If you’re worried about something, write down everything you’re worried about, cross out the ones out of your control and deal with the ones you can.”

Perfect.

Such a little hack, but so effective because it takes away pointless worrying and gets us to focus on what we can control and do.

Like for example, the common worries when launching a product:

Things I cannot control:

  • Other products stealing the limelight on Product Hunt
  • Will people like it? Will I get haters?
  • It doesn’t get featured, doesn’t go viral.
  • Nobody buys it
  • Other people see the idea and steal it.
  • The product fails

Thing I can control:

  • Focus on the marketing I need to do
  • DM people about the product
  • Submit to product directories
  • Get backlinks
  • Write a keyword optimized article
  • Contribute to communities

If I do this every time I worry, I think I will feel less stressed, calmer, happier, stronger.
