Mooncaked

It’s mooncake season. But it’s not the same this year. I buy some to give it away, and that’s it. Gone are the days when it’s a heritage hobby. A passion. A joy in partaking in a tradition. Where going shopping for them gives me so much joy. Where seeing how they are made, listening to the knocks of the wooden mould, pulls at my heartstrings. The past craft masters are all gone. The taste is gone. The spirit is gone. The price keeps going up. The quality keeps going down. Nothing’s the same anymore. It’s commercialized just like Christmas now. It’s dead. I’m leaving anyway. There’s nothing left to linger for.

@therealbrandonwilson Your words are comforting, brother. Thanks for enjoying it with me. Sadly, it’s really over.

I only know about mooncakes from your posts, but it seems they’re following the route of fruitcakes in the US, or Christmas puddings in the UK. Did you at least see any good mooncake memes?

@Winkletter Haha never saw one. I went to search and didn’t see any good ones too!
