My cat is driving me nuts

My ideal work setup is my laptop, an extra monitor, and a pile of papers for jotting down ideas, especially when I need to break out of the constraints of the digital tools I use to capture my tasks and ideas. I use TaskPaper, which is an outlining tool, for almost everything. But sometimes I need to think of responsibilities in terms of boxes or tables and to jot down processes (how tasks are connected). I can’t do that on TaskPaper.

That’s when paper comes to the rescue (I’ve not felt comfortable with the drawing programs I’ve come across, although Obsidian feels like the most comfortable for me to use right now).

Buuuuuut! Whenever I’m at my home desk to work (I no longer have a home office since we moved to our new place last year. I only have a desk in the living room), our cat decides to make my pile of paper his bed. I don’t feel comfortable constantly moving him off the desk or pushing him aside to reach the papers under him.

I might have to get comfortable with a drawing program, or lock the cat up while I’m working, but I don’t want to bother him. Maybe I need to put my foot down and get his paws off my papers. But today, he gets to sleep on my papers in peace.

P.S. Today I woke up at 5AM (as part of my 5AM challenge), but I felt SUPER groggy. It’s the worst day since I started the challenge with my friend, even though I’ve had other nights with less sleep. Maybe it was the late dinner that did it. I hope I can get some sound sleep tonight!

Sounds like you may want to feng shui your workspace a bit.

@therealbrandonwilson That would get my cat off my desk, or do you mean the living room/desk combo needs some feng shui?

All of the above.

@therealbrandonwilson Hmm… looks like I need to take feng shui a tad more seriously 🤔
