Next action

You can’t make time go faster or success come sooner. The only thing you can control is the next action. – @JamesClear

Maybe Mr Clear is right. As he usually does. This is what I need to do.

Don’t think about progress.
Don’t think about outcomes.
Don’t think about goals.
Don’t think about aspiration.
Don’t think about dreams.
Don’t think about hopes.
Don’t think about optimism.
Don’t think about revenue.
Don’t think about MRR.
Don’t think about following.
Don’t think about impressions.
Don’t think about views.
Don’t think about clicks.
Don’t think about churn.
Don’t think about conversion.
Don’t think about money.

Thinking—obsessing over them—does nothing.
Besides, I got no time, energy or capacity for over-thinking anyway.

Planning is easy and short enough.
Doesn’t take much, actually.
A quick plan, then…
On to the next action, a tiny task a day.

Don’t think, just do. The next action.

Then the next.
After that, the next again.

And in time, the chain will bring me to where I want to be.

Eventually.

This feels freeing.
And right for me.
Right now.

In the eternal words of Rudyard Kipling:

If you can dream and not make dreams your master
If you can think and not make thoughts your aim

Love that. Very wise words. That balance… my lifelong practice
