No one's coming to save you

Life in the past two weeks: Crawling to the finish line, just glad and relieved that it’s the end of the day… or the week. Nothing left in the tank for even one more minute of work. I never looked forward to my bed more.

All thanks to this fking flu bug.

If anything, I think this burns you out faster than grinding late nights.

When you need rest but can’t.
When you just want to slump in bed but got to get up.

The effort it takes it 10x more.
And 10x more draining because you’re at 10x less capacity.

That’s the thing about adulthood, about being a parent, about being the provider to the family.

You get up.
You get on with it.

No one’s coming to save you.

I believe communities need to be structured differently so that others CAN save us in hard times. I know I wouldn’t have survived financial hardships without a few family members having my back when I was down. We can’t WAIT for people to save us, but sometimes we can ask for help or invite it into our lives.
