“It’s going to be okay but it’s going to be different.” – some random X account
Exactly how I feel about what’s coming.
No more “designer”. Now a “developer”.
No more social good. Now more personal good.
No more doing what I’m weak at. Now leveraging my strengths.
2024’s ending, 2025’s coming.
I get a sense that things had finally turned a corner. Things are going to be okay.
Yes it will be okay. But it’s going to be different.
Very different.
Not bad different, which was the past four years.
Just okay different.
And that’s great.
It might also be similar in many ways. At the heart of design, develop, teaching, etc are usually the same core activities and experiences: problem-solving, communication, empathy, etc.
What we think we’re missing out on will find their way back to us. 😄
