Parenting paradoxes

The paradoxes of being a parent:

  • I’d die for the kid, but to live that spirit out to full means to live well.
  • If it’s truly enriching for the kid, I will not care about the money, but I also feel scarcity about money every day too.
  • I’m utterly exhausted and sleep deprived and probably got mild PTSD from that, but I will still keep going if it’s for the good of the child.
  • I wish for me time but can’t stand being away from my family for more than a day.
  • I’m love my kid to bits but some days when my patience runs thin and nerves are shot, I can imagine many unkind things.
  • There’s nothing more life affirming than being a parent but also nothing more life draining.

…and thousands more paradoxes.

Not complaining.
Just impossible to grasp.

Such is parenting.
