Some people love you.
Some love to be around you.
Some love what you can do for them.

Understand the difference.

Justin Welsh

You’d think the most dangerous group to watch out for is the last group. I think the group to watch out for is actually the middle group.

Because it’s usually clear enough who’s in the first, and the last.

But some from the last will try to appear in the middle. Wolves amongst sheep. Those you got to watch. Carefully.

Then there’s some from the rest in the middle group who just like being around you, unload their burdens and problems on you, complain, whine, ask you share in their negativity, while absorbing your light, but do nothing, contribute nothing back. Their presence don’t matter to you, but they take from you. I used to think these friends are harmless, since there’s no ill intent, no malice. They might even be nice to you. But passive consumption is still consumption, does take a toll. I’ve since became more selective.

People are great, until they are not.
Most aren’t.

And I’m only learning this recently.
