Persistence > patience

The most useful form of patience is persistence.

Patience implies waiting for things to improve on their own.

Persistence implies keeping your head down and continuing to work when things take longer than you expect.

James Clear

I think this is why I don’t think I’m a patient person. I always said my impatience gets the better of me. But that’s because I don’t like to wait for things to improve on their own.

I’m 100% more of a persistent person. 365 days of commits anyone? Yeah that’s me alright. Working longer than anyone, when the rewards are low and the motivation is thin.

Persistence alone doesn’t get you there, though. Success is a tricky one. The moment you try to find a single silver bullet for it, it slips from your grasp.

But without persistence, you’ll 100% never get there. That I know for sure. So what does a gambler at life do? Zero percent chance at success from not persisting, or persist and have some low odds of success?

The latter.

Any day. All day. All night long.

Persistence > patience.
