Here’s a dopey idea:

Create a privacy-first alternative for any popular SaaS you know. Anything. Everything.

More and more consumers are trusting big companies less with their data. Many SaaS have carved out a niche for themselves by just offering privacy-first as the main benefit.

Simple Analytics, Fathom Analytics and Plausible comes to mind, as privacy-first alternatives to Google Analytics.

Also:

This also appeals to business customers—maybe in the EU?—who wants to be GDPR compliant and not run afoul with other privacy laws.

So how about privacy-first alternatives of these popular SaaS?

  • Analytics: Posthog, Mixpanel, ChartMogul, Baremetrics
  • Advertising: Adsense, Carbon Ads
  • Messaging: Whatsapp, Signal, Telegram
  • Video calls: Zoom, Google Meet
  • Ecommerce: Woocommerce, Shopify, Gumroad
  • Personal email: Gmail, Zoho
  • Transactional email: Mailgun, Postmark, Resend
  • Newsletters: Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Behiiv, Substack
  • Social media: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
  • AI: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Mistral

What other privacy-first product ideas are there?
