Publishing printed books

Today I had a meeting with a printing press that should’ve been an hour long but took 2 hours. I really connected with the owner and her marketing advisor. I liked their direction and we shared a lot of similar interests and traits (e.g. being generalists). They also had a modern understanding of marketing and how to make book authors succeed.

What drew me to set the meeting up was a sponsored ad on Instagram where the printing press’s owner spoke to authors looking to participate in Kuwait’s national book fair, which takes place every November. I attended last year’s book fair and set the intention to participate the following year (i.e. this year). But I wasn’t exactly sure how I’ll go about figuring out how to participate. I just held on to the desire to participate, hoping I’ll figure out a way in due time.

This printing press can handle all the issues I was apprehensive about (redesigning my book covers, translating my books into Arabic, registering the ISBN number, printing the books, distributing the books, and a host of other logistical details I don’t have the mental bandwidth to figure out).

The sponsored ad felt like an answer to my prayer and I really hope it materializes into me being able to showcase a number of books in the book fair!

Have you had the experience of circumstances aligning with your desires recently? I know @therealbrandonwilson has been dancing with the universe and has ample examples to share, which he’s been sharing in his posts. 😍
