Real life > inner life

Universal fractal: Anytime your inner life becomes larger than your real life, you’re in trouble. Sooner or later.

To be fair, I mean this not in a moment to moment way, but an overall trend sort of way. Inner life peaks during moments we daydream yes, but if you’re spending all day daydreaming and not acting on said dreams, you’re just playing. Playing with thoughts, which are cheap, not taking risks, which are expensive. Expensive on your time, energy and ego.

Or anytime you set more intentions, make more plans and read up more books just to prepare for finally acting on it, you’re in trouble too. Because preparation is the smart person’s elaborate way of procrastination. Fear dressed in a red dress and high heels.

Having a rich inner life is good. But anytime your real life is smaller than your inner life, beware.
