In the heat of registering my child for Primary 1, thinking about different schools, how it fits, how it works for us, how far or how near, whether it is safe, etc etc.

It’s really about the right place for him. To grow and nurture, into who he can be. Even if it’s going to be just a short six months. The school doesn’t have to be the best in academics. Have the best teachers, or built impressive facilities.

We just want a place where his mere presence is celebrated. Coming in to learn, to become a better person, that alone should be celebrated! Then, he can grow into his own.

Place is so crucial. The external environment is everything. Outward cues do all the heavy lifting.

We might never find this place here.

But it’s a start.
Even if it’s a detour.
