Safe then save

Okay I acknowledge that I need to feel safe first before I can get unstuck and thrive.

But how? How to even start?

Brainstorming some ideas:

  • Acceptance. I still fight it. Perhaps surrender is needed, to begin with.
  • Get support. There’s no weakness in seeking out support. Some form of therapy, someone to speak to?
  • Money. Having a financial plan to act on is reassuring. Let’s get to a 6-months savings buffer, or more. Tally monthly expenses and work on living by a lean budget.
  • Stable routine. The body is easy to satisfy. No environmental stress, and consistent routines where it gets enough food, water, sleep, activity, self-care, and it will start to settle into the comfortable lull of safety.
  • Time. Ultimately, I just need lots of time. Money can perhaps be rushed but emotional safety can’t be rushed.

Emotional safety, then financial safety.

Safe then save.
