Senseless hard work

A lot of hard work is wasted:

“Having lost sight of our objectives, we redoubled our efforts.” - Walt Kelly

So easy to fall into this trap. I see it everywhere in large organisations, especially. When the system is optimised to benefit itself, not the outcomes. But this happens even for solopreneurs.

Working hard on a bad business won’t make it work, even by grinding harder or spending ten years on it.

Marketing on the wrong channel/platform that everyone is here—like building in public when your customers are not on Twitter—means every dollar invested returns a net negative.

Spending time optimising your infrastructure and server performance when your MRR is zero, is just overengineering.

And so many more.

There’s nothing more senseless than a sacrifice for nothing.

I like Tim Ferriss’s question: What would it look like if it were easy?
