Shoes

These shoes had walked me for a decade.

Through every intense workshop in all manner of meeting rooms.
Through every nervous presentation in C-suite boardrooms.
Through every deep, open-hearted conversation out in the field.
Now the work of these shoes is complete.
After ten years of labour. A labour of love. In giving back and serving others. To bettering my country, my home.
Today, I throw away these shoes.
Today, a new adventure calls out.
Today, it’s time for new shoes.
It is time.
But you’d realized by now, this post is not about shoes.

Cheers to your new shoes, Jason!

And yet, I am mesmerized by that picture of your shoe. It looks like a sock with some sort of half-shoe, bottom covering?? 🤣

@therealbrandonwilson My thoughts exactly. I wanna figure out if what I’m seeing is correct 🤣
@drodol Thanks buddy!
@therealbrandonwilson @haideralmosawi Yeah it’s one of the best shoes I invested in! 100% waterproof - you can dip the whole shoe into water and it stays dry inside. I loved it for travel. - https://vessi.com/products/mens-cityscape-classic-charcoal-grey

Sounds like it’s perfect for those moments when you are walking on water. 😂

P.S. note to self: Yesterday, I ran the final final final design thinking workshop for the year. And hopefully, forever. A poetic ending because I ended back where it all started at The Treasury building in the Public Service Division, where my design career started. This can’t be mere coincidence. What a way to end a decade of design… to this view.
P.P.S.: And the morning after, the usual hangover from conducting a workshop, but a lightness in step. Serious. But not the kind of fresh lightness from a good night’s sleep, but the over-compensated lightness you feel after you took the weights off your ankles. I’ve been carrying this far too long.
