Smaller

Once you stretch your world view, it will never bounce back to the same length again.
Coming back, I can feel the contrast. Everything had shrunk. Everything feels smaller. Closed in. Tighter. More suffocating. Harder to breathe. More dull and lifeless. No sense of anticipation and hope with anything here.
It’s that frustrating teething phase, the grey transition zone, where you had mentally departed from where you’re at, but not quite arrived at where you want to be. Yet.
It makes it so hard to stay.
But that’s also how you know you had a damn good trip.
