Snow globe town

Winter in Sapporo.

Love the sight of first snow. Slowing drifting down to earth, in absolutely no hurry at all. While everyone and everything else is forced to move slow because of the thick snow on top of black ice. Japan’s usually quiet enough, but the snow dampens all the sound even more. Everyone keeping quiet, minding their own business, in introvert capital of the world.

It’s like living inside a snow globe. And when the first snow drifts down, it’s like that teaching method that educators sometimes use for helping children to calm down - shake the snow globe and watch the snow sink slowly while breathing in and out. Very strangely calming.

That’s what winter here feels like.

Calm.
Slow.
Fluffy.

Here.
Now.

The only thing I know about Sapporo is that it is a brand of beer often served with saki at Japanese bars/restaurants.
