So I'll just do my own thing thanks

I know a 3D icon is not a logo, but I love how refreshing it looks, so I’ll just do my own thing thanks.

I know I’m supposed to know where my customers hang out, research on distribution first, but I started my product on a different starting point, so I’ll just do my own thing thanks.

I know I’m supposed to keep my frameworks and dependencies up to date, fix security bugs, re-learn new ways to do old tricks like /app router vs /pages router, and be a nice and cooperative developer citizen, but I find all that just busy work that distracts me from growing my. business, so I’ll just do my own thing thanks.

I know customers don’t care about Lighthouse scores and clean code, and prematurely optimizing or refactoring your website for it is just a distraction, but my product ain’t for layman customers but tech-savvy folks, and since it’s a boilerplate product the expectations for code quality and performance do matter in this context, so I’ll just do my own thing thanks.

I know I should make small bets and limit my effort of building a product to one weekend so that I don’t over-commit time on an unproven product, but I’m not the first HTML template out there, nor will I be the last. It’s a validated market, with proven demand. Just look at Envato Themeforest. It’s less about validating a novel, never-seen-before product but more about slowly carving out my own slice of the pie, so I’ll just do my own thing thanks.

I know I’m breaking the ‘rules’, not following best practices, and not heeding well-intentioned advice, and in doing so I might make mistakes and fail. I’m fully aware of those possible outcomes going into this, but I’m following my instinct and gut this time with this product, so I’ll just do my own thing thanks.

So that I can now truly own all my wins and also all my losses… no more excuses.

So I’ll just do my own thing thanks.
