So much for Copilot

Today, my goal was to finish a proof of concept for another macro-enabled Excel file tool for my client. I have some requirements that require new functionality for this tool compared to the previous ones, and I was using Copilot to work through Visual Basic and Power Query in Excel. Then I hit the limit, and it gave me a message to come back tomorrow or upgrade the plan. I had hit this limit before in the Edit function. This is Copilot's version of Claude Cowork, where it will actually modify data and formulas in your worksheet. I stopped using the Edit mode and stayed with Chat mode, thinking there was no usage limit because I had never hit one.

It came at the worst time today because Copilot gave me some SQL code that was throwing errors and then left me high and dry. Fortunately, I was able to figure them out on my own.

As a contractor, I have a Microsoft 365 Basic, which apparently has usage/token limits, even though they are not obvious. I inquired about upgrading my account, and my director had me sign a form and requested it through the CIO. I don't know whether I will get the upgrade. If not, I will be more careful about my usage so I'm not left high and dry again.
