Somewhere between my worst nightmare and the ideal dream

It’s interesting to see how life panned out, from re-reading this 2021 post about my worst nightmare of going back to fulltime employment.
Back then, my savings runway was only 1-2 months. I had to confront the fact that I needed to take a job. Somewhere along the way I survived, but barely. After a few years around 2023-2024, I had to interview for jobs, nearly got in, but in the end, I had to reject them.
So the worst nightmare almost happened.
But yet, now I’m practically working 9-6, even though it’s 3 freelance gigs back to back. It’s like fulltime employment in a way, except it’s remote, and with different employers.
Seems like the worst nightmare turned into that kind of average dream where you walk around the dreamworld a bit, nothing much happens and then you wake up.
I mean… I survived, have the means to feed my family now, and can still work on my dream projects on pockets of time.
Pretty much the best compromise between worst nightmare and ideal dream.
It might be challenging now still, but on the bigger scheme of things, it’s right where I need to be.
Thankfull.
And your worst nightmare is someone else’s dream come true.
