It’s been 3-4 years since I last cleaned my desk and work space. Can you believe that? Since the pandemic started I’ve been either too sleep deprived, busy, tired, coding, launching, busier, hustling, exhausted… to even have the bandwidth and space to tidy thing up.
But this year, this time, for Chinese New Year spring cleaning, I finally did.
They say, your external environment shapes your inner environment. Messy desk, messy mind. Tidy space, tidy thoughts.
And it’s true.
I feel clearer in mind already.
Looser in my shoulders.
Lighter in my steps.
Wiping off the thick layer of dust felt like wiping the slate clean for the new year ahead.
Discarding all the junk I’ve kept over the years felt like metaphorically the same for mental burdens.
Tidying, rearranging everything back into their place and space, felt like everything is back to normal again.
Make your bed.
Tidy your desk.
Clear your mind.
As above, so below.
As without, so within.
