Starting a new streak... on Github

OK putting this here for public accountability so that I won’t back out of it:

I’m trying to play catch up on shipping this year.

So I’m committing myself to keeping my Github daily contribution streak going till 2023 is over.

It started off with just shipping PSI.SG, but after 2 weeks daily shipping, things shifted:

  • I feel productive, more than I felt in a looong while. Momentum breeds more momentum. I got my flywheel spinning, and I feel like I can keep going.
  • I’m finally shipping on products that I said I want to build. The congruence is affirming, and confidence-boosting.
  • This is the 20% work that brings 80% results. It’s where my focus and priorities should be.
  • The more I build, the more opportunities it spins up. Sometimes tangential, sometimes directly related to my work or products.
  • I got more ideas than ever to share and build in public on Twitter. There’s more engagement too, as a side effect. Interestingly, I’ve been experimenting with “designing in public” on LinkedIn too, using the PSI.SG project. And there’s definitely more attention and impressions!
  • I feel creative, alive. I feel great! Creating gives joy, and joy gives aliveness.

With so many benefits, I thought, why not keep going?

So there.

Anyone interested to join me?! 🔥

I don’t know anything about Github, but I approve of a streak nonetheless.
