Straightforward vs complicated

Is the situation actually complicated or is it really quite straightforward, but you’re making it complicated because it requires a lot of courage to make the straightforward decision? – James Clear
Been questioning myself this lately.
Should I continue with design consulting and all the associated gigs around it? Just stop leveraging anything related to my past decade of experience?
Or just go all in on indie hacking, and software freelancing, which I feel more aligned to and interested in?
It’s one thing about being responsible and realistic. I think I’ve done a lot of that the past few years. But hanging on to yesterday’s glory can be stagnating, especially when the heart is no longer in it. On the contrary, being more aligned brings more flow, more momentum, and thus, fresh new opportunities.
It’s not complicated. It’s really simple, straightforward decision actually.
But not easy.
Straightforward ≠ easy.
Simple ≠ easy.
Because my life is no longer my own, but everyone in my family. If I was single I would have done it. But now I got to weigh my chances. Not make rash moves. As Mr Clear is clear about, it definitely requires courage.
Still unsure which move to take… but change is in the air.

@drodol Thanks buddy! You’re right about your advice to your younger self. I suspect that’s my plan too, in the end.
And realised I don’t have to do a all-or-nothing (which is tempting but irrational). Currently considering removing 1 particular gig which seems to be more painful than it is worth in money, but likely stick a bit more with the rest.
This also reminds me - I got to make plans for passion becoming profitable, otherwise will just be stuck in this!
I read this as a battle between Passion vs Reason. Your heart is not in it, but reality hits when by using your “old” skill set you still manage to bring in money.
I am not going to sit in the sidelines and recommend anything, but if I was speaking to my younger me, I’d say, stick with it just a bit longer (until passion starts being more profitable).
