Tending fire

Please remember this:
Tending to the fire is important work too.
Fires need sparks to start, but to be truly useful, it needs to be tended to, to burn into glowing embers, and simmer slowly to a boil. A thousand sparks is no use for cooking meat.
There’s seasons—days or weeks—where it’s about starting fires.
But there’s definitely seasons—months or years, or even decades—where it’s about tending embers.
Starting fires look sexy and all, but tending fire does the real work.
So tend to the fire.
Keep the embers glowing.
The feast will come.
This post is not about fires.
