The raft is not the other shore.
The bridge is not the destination.

Some people, things, events, happen just for a season. To bring you over to the other side.

You don’t carry the raft on your back after you reached the other shore.
You don’t stay at the other end of the bridge after you crossed it.

It would be silly to do so.

But yet so many of us do this in life.
We rerun a heated argument in our heads, even though it’s done its job.
We stay in relationships, company, country, even though it stopped benefiting.

We carry far too much.
Let go far too little.

The raft is not the other shore.
The bridge is not the destination.
