The problem with daily writing

jasonleow • 18 Aug 2024 •
A problem with frequently writing and talking about our problems:
You start to unintentionally recycle through them day in day out, week after week, month after month. And it slowly becomes reality.
And you wonder why you’re so entrenched it it, and ruminate and talk about it even more.
Perpetuating a vicious cycle, ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
Look, I think its ok to identify, acknowledge and talk about problems so that we can be address and resolve them. But after that, obsessing over it does no good. It does the opposite, in fact. You got to talk about the future you want to work towards, using verbs and “I will” or “I am”. Whining only about the present will only reinforce the current reality.
I find I do that more often than I am aware… probably.
Sometimes it’s nice to be vulnerable and share my challenges in indie hacking and all. It’s cathartic. It resonates with others. People DM me to thank me for sharing a side of the indie hacking story that few see on social media. It gets some impressions. What’s there to not like?
This, is what that’s not to like.
Daily writing, tweeting and all is what I will continue to do. But maybe being more mindful about what I’m putting out is what I need to change.
Less whining, more manifesting.

Completely agree! I’m glad to see you are aboard the manifesting train.

@Winkletter Hahah “use your platform to undermine your own platform” – good way of describing it. Yeah the tool stays, just the mindset shift needed.
@therealbrandonwilson Slowly but surely!

I’m glad to see you’re honest enough to use your platform to undermine your own platform. Although, it’s probably better I think of this as a mental adjustment to make LifeLog work better as a tool for manifesting rather than whinging. #TeamManifesting
