Tinnitus

Maybe it was being out in nature when it was quiet, but I noticed my tinnitus much more while on vacation. I’m not sure if it is getting worse or I’m just noticing it more. It’s starting to feel like it may be interfering with my ability to fully hear the other person on calls, especially when I’m not using noise-canceling earbuds/headphones.
I saw Dave Asprey did an AMA on Instagram, and I scrolled through and found someone asking for his advice about resolving tinnitus. His response was to check jaw alignment and look into red light therapy for the ear. I suspect a jaw misalignment may be part of my issue. I noticed that when I have my mouthguard in at night if I bite down in certain ways, I can actually make the tinnitus worse. I have my 6-month dental check-up this week, and I’ll be asking my dentist about it. I will also make an appointment to see my chiropractor and get a facial adjustment.
Regarding red light therapy, I found a gadget called the SonicCalm Pro, which is a USB-powered set of earbuds that project red light into the ear canal. Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular repair and promote tissue regeneration. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of tinnitus by improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, and enhancing neural activity in the auditory system. I waited until I returned from vacation to start using it, and I will diligently do two 30-minute treatments every day.

Wow interesting!
Personally I’ve seen more people talking about having this since covid began. Not sure if related…
