Tiny Twitter hacks I learned & love, part II

Part 2 of tiny yet cool Twitter hacks that I’m slowly accumulating over all the daily practice and observing how other high follower accounts do it:

Part 1 is here.

  • Value = actionable. I’ve been tweeting benefits of writing for creators but very little practical, actionable tips on how to do it. Decided to start tweeting more how to tips, frameworks, writing prompts, etc.
  • Auto-RT to save time. Decided to switch to using tld.rip instead of Typeshare for my scheduled posts, since it has auto-RT (which I can set to 13h post-tweet).
  • Getting inspiration. tld.rip also has swipe files which are great, and I can build my own swipe file too.
  • Threads vs tweets. Consider doing 1 high quality thread per week for all 52 weeks of the year to jumpstart growth.
  • Colour. Changed progress bar back to yellow and grey emoji squares to bring some colour back to my profile page. For reflection: what’s my theme colour?
  • Repurpose old content. Retweeting older tweets on schedule provides material for new tweets too. Don’t be afraid to rehash old content in new ways - rephrase, expand, add in new learnings.
  • Distribution, distribution, distribution. Started posting a Lifelog link for my 5am wake time tweets, to distribute it even more.
  • Start a tweet swipe file. Saving drafts on Typefully won’t cut it anymore. Find/Create a good Notion template for it.
  • Inspiration is perishable. Act now. Went with my inspiration and randomly launched a new year promo - 50% discount for 5 months.
  • Leveraging special days – Posted about end of year/new year content during end Dec and early Jan. Specialist vs generalist conversation seems to interest people, so my 3rd day in a row tweeting the same theme for my 4pm indie hacking tweet.
  • DM strategy. DMs helps with algorithm as well. Anyone you have a DM convo with is more likely to see your next tweets (and vice versa) because it’s a high indicator of a connection.
  • Repurpose visuals in new ways. I can repurpose my sketches for Lifelog! Just switch to a writing theme to pair with the visual.
