Trip to Vegas

A buddy of mine and I used to make yearly trips to Las Vegas. It’s just under a five-hour drive from Phoenix, and there’s usually a great concert or some other event planned. My last trip to Vegas was in 2019 before the pandemic featuring Everyone’s Favorite Virus™️.

The big event this time is Rod Stewart’s residency at Caesar’s. I’ve seen him countless times before, and each time I’m determined to get one of his autographed soccer balls that he kicks out into the audience.

I’ve also got a massage planned along with some great meals at our usual spots. There is a place off the strip called Pops with probably the best cheesesteak I’ve had. Pre-concert our go-to favorite is Joe’s, which is a short walk to the concert venue. Breakfast on Sunday morning will likely be Blueberry Hill.

I’m not a big gambler. I used to play Texas Hold 'em poker, but I lost interest. I may play a few slots here or there, but I will be playing with money set aside for the purpose of burning it.

It’s a quick trip, leaving Friday and back on Sunday. It will be nice to get out of town and experience Sin City.
