Twitter Engagement Groups

Following up from my post from yesterday about Twitter Engagement groups, I went in search of some.

There are quite a few paid ones on a monthly subscription basis and it seems that those groups have over 100 members. I don’t want to start spending more money when I haven’t made any profit from my account yet, so kept on looking for free ones.

I followed a tweet and DM’ed someone who I was told was offering a free group. We exchanged a few messages where he (she/they) quizzed me about what I wanted to do with my account and I asked a few questions too. I was then accepted to the group which takes the form of a Telegram group.

There are currently 16 members, all of whom seem to be in a similar niche to me (shilling affiliate products). The rules are that you are only allowed to ask for 2 tweets per day to be engaged by the group and those tweets are not allowed to have links in - so no direct affiliate offers for example (best to write your first tweet and then once that gets engagement, follow up with a comment that contains the link).

Throughout the day (and night - I need to silence this group somehow) you receive links to tweets prefixed with “1/2” and “2/2” where each person states their daily quota. You follow the links and like each one. Retweets and comments are optional, but I like to do those too where I can.

In return you should get as many likes on each tweet as there are members in the group.

I don’t think it works 100% (as in not everyone seems to take part) but some of my tweets over the last 24 hours have gotten over 40 “engagements” (likes, retweets, comments etc) and over 500 impressions. That’s way more than I have ever had before.

I have also picked up some additional organic followers too.

These are my stats (from the last 28 days):

Tweets: 85
Tweet impressions: 6,876
Profile visits: 333
Mentions: 8
Followers: 17 (+15)

However. The big caveat is that although these metrics are showing improvements, I need to remember that the majority of these are “fake”.

Until I start to pick up more organic reach, I won’t consider the engagement group a success. But it is moving in the right direction. Perhaps if I start making some money, it could be reinvested into a paid group.

I am also hoping the Telegram group will share tactics and ideas. There are 2 groups, one for sharing Tweet links and one chat group. I am also hoping people might share copies of paid courses too. I just need to work out how to broach the subject without getting banned.

I wonder how hard it would be to launch my own engagement group. Perhaps it could be a good way to earn some additional recurring income if people have to subscribe. Even at $5 a month, getting 100 members in the group could lead to a nice side-income. The other paid group I have seen is $25 a month!

Comments

Wow $25/m for access to an engagement group - that’s way better returns than many indie SaaS products! Fascinating new world.

Yeah, I am tempted to start one just to see if it can be profitable.
I guess the issues come whereby you have to keep on top of if people have participated, liked etc.
You might have to kick them from the group - but then again, if they are not liking and not posting their tweets to be liked, then it will be ok.
I am sure there could be some sort of telegram bot or something you could build?

Telegram bot idea sounds cool. Bullish about TG bots for a while. But I guess you have to enjoy building a community, getting people to participate etc. The effort required can be easy to underestimate I feel…
