Twitter jail

Writing this from inside Twitter jail. Yes, I got shadowbanned and I still don’t know why. I didn’t even know until @daniel_nguyenx DMed me. And all the while before that I was wondering: Wow damn, this sucks… Engagement is just catastrophic this week…

Here’s what being under a shadowban looks like:

No one can see my replies. It’s not even hidden under “More replies” section. It’s just invisible to everyone except me. You don’t get notification to my replies too.

If you go to my profile or have the direct URL, you can still see my tweets. Otherwise, it’s all hidden under a notice “This Post is unavailable.”

Which is weird because from the Help Center docs, that Notice is only shown for protected / blocked / deactivated accounts, or a deleted post. I’m neither.

I’ve reached out to Twitter Support, but I’m not optimistic they would care.

I just learned from a DM chat group that apparently, this randomly happens to many people and it’s a common occurrence! In most cases, Twitter jail will be over in a few days.

I hope so too 🤞🤞🤞

Meanwhile, I guess I can ship more! 🚢🚢

But damn, looks like things are a hot mess now in Twitter HQ…

That’s the universe telling you to step away from the platform…

I’m surprised they let you have a URL in your display name. That might encourage people to navigate away from X!

@therealbrandonwilson Yeah agree. Hard to trust a platform when bans are so random. I was enjoying not having to spend the time there lol
