Two shores

On one shore, the familiarity of the old, the experience of a decade, a resume befitting of a veteran. Staying would mean stability, certainty, seniority, but almost certain boredom and gradual—but eventual—decay.

On the other shore, a new but foreign territory—a further shore—with little experience to count on, only a brave daring. Beginning anew as a rookie would, but emerging skills give hope that more opportunities will come, and that the future is bright.

On one hand, an old but good life.
On the other hand, a new but promising adventure.

Which would you choose?

“You’ve already made the choice. You’re here to understand why you’ve made it”. – The Matrix

In asking, I see I already know the answer.

And that is the point of asking.
To acknowledge that I had already made a decision.
And why I made it.
