Underrated perks of indie hacking

As I apply for jobs right now, I often think what’s it like to transit to a 9-to-5 lifestyle. It makes my heart wince a little, to think that my current lifestyle will be gone. Amidst the busyness, it’s easy to forget all the underrated perks to indie hacking and being my own entrepreneur. The little to big things that goes unnoticed and under-appreciated.
I need to enjoy these more:
- Paying for cheaper tickets for a weekday daytime movie or entry.
- No weekend crowds, jousting with other parents and kids.
- No queues for anything – food, entry, transport.
- Having a playground or playhouse all to me and my son.
- Faster commutes to and from anywhere.
- Calmer, quieter, more enjoyable experience all round.
- More quality family time if I should so choose to.
- More freedom and autonomy to decide what projects to work on, who to work with.
- Success and failure—my own destiny—is all on me. Nothing or no one to shift blame to.
- More fun, more meaning in my work.
- No need to apply for leave to ask for permission to go on a vacation.
- No office politics or power struggles.
- No backbenching meetings, courses and events just because.
What else did I miss?
