Using ChatGPT to re-organize a file

I have a single file that I organize my entire life in. But I’ve been collecting lots of notes in it that are poorly organized (for example, multiple sections indented under “productivity”, so that my notes are scattered).

I’m working with ChatGPT right now to re-organize the file and clean it up. The first few attempts were faster than I expected (the file is thousands of lines long), but it was removing indentation (flattening the file) and not combining sections together that should be combined. But I hope with a few iterations it can get it right. I’ve also asked it to add the durations of video links into the file. I hope it can get that right.

I don’t know why I haven’t thought of using ChatGPT for this before since the messiness of this file (my second brain) has caused me unnecessary stress!

Have you used AI to organize your notes?

Wow nice, another use case for Chatty I never knew!

@jasonleow unfortunately it didn’t work so well. It managed to group sections properly, but it added extra indentations of its own that made the file a mess. 🥲

I could have probably requested a few more adjustments, but I’m not going to bother with that at this stage. I had requested that it adds the duration of videos next to video links, but it said it has to have access to YouTube’s API, which I would need to set up. I might play around with that later. #aintNobodyGotTimeForThatRightNow
