Waking up

We wake up every day (we hope), and because it's a mundane, assumed task, we often take it for granted. Here is a re-frame of why waking up each day is one of your most valuable gifts.

Suppose I tell you that you will receive 100 million dollars free and clear today. The only catch is that you cannot wake up tomorrow. Would you take it? Every person to whom I have posed the question has said no. This means they value waking up the next day more than 100 million dollars (or any arbitrary amount of money). So why don't most people live like it?

I'm just as guilty as anyone else, so I'm not preaching to anyone but myself. Each and every day is a gift. Regardless of your circumstances, you have the power to think differently today. You can change your beliefs. You can focus on your desires and what you want in your life, and you can make different choices that will lead you to your Future Self.

So embrace the day and let yourself dream big about what you want. Forget about focusing on what you think is possible.

As Mark Cuban's dad said,

"Today is the youngest you will ever be. Live like it."
