Wheels up to Orlando

It seems there is no longer a less busy time at the airport. It's either regularly busy or super busy. There was a bit of traffic at the drop-off, and then I sailed through security before encountering an absolutely packed gate area. There was barely any room to stand, much less sit down anywhere. Must be all these young Mormons that are walking around fresh-faced, probably on their way to Utah.
My flight is delayed about an hour. This is one reason I prefer earlier flights. You have some breathing room for delays. The later a flight is, the more likely you'll face compounding delays or, worse, have no options if your flight is canceled.
I had originally planned to meet a former work colleague who lives in Orlando for dinner. She is convalescing from a pretty serious car accident and asked for a rain check. No plans this evening, and I like it that way. Tomorrow is when all the action starts, and I'm enjoying the calm before the storm.
Oh, that reminds me, I better get my daily spelling bee out of the way. I wish I could say I've kept a long streak going on that one, but it hasn't earned the stickiness of my other streaks.
