When my work is done

When my work is done, I’ll still wake at 5am but sip coffee through the sunrises, which I would often miss when in deep concentration.

When my work is done, I’ll leisurely have breakfast, nurse my tea slowly, and chat with my son and wife, share a few laughs, instead of gulping down everything to get back to the next task.

When my work is done, I’ll linger during lunch at my local coffeeshop, observing, witnessing, looking on at all the people I brush shoulders with daily but never took a second glance at.

When my work is done, I’ll take an afternoon nap, the kind that you go into without worry or concern about what happens after.

When my work is done, I’ll rest. I’ll finally rest.

Is this the same thing as “retirement?”

Haha yeah could be. But I think here I was alluding more to an attitude or mindset, because I always feel my work is not done.
