Which activities are the best expression of you? Can you spend five minutes doing one of them today? – @JamesClear

Coding
Building
Writing
Creating
Travelling

Except for travelling, I do these every day! And for more than five minutes.

I love creating, because whenever I create something from nothing, there’s a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment. It uplifts me. It puts something out into the world for the benefit of myself at the least, for the benefit of others at the most. It brings out all my talents – logical to creative, numbers to pixels.

Building, coding, writing, are all subsets of that feeling from creating.

But writing, has something more: It helps me live a reflective life. It helps me teach myself, over and over. I feel like I’m sucking on the bone marrow of life by writing and reading what I write a year later, two years, three, a decade later.

So I guess I’m already living the best expression of me every day!

Reminder to self: Much to be grateful and happy with.

Great questions from James Clear! But I also think we need to make a distinction between activities and outputs: sometimes doing an activity without tangible outputs leaves us feeling empty. I enjoy writing, but if I only journal the whole day, I’d feel like I haven’t truly moved my life forward. I want some journaling to clear my mind and process my thoughts, but also some writing towards pieces I publish and products I sell.

@Winkletter You forgot “writing about writing” ;)

@haideralmosawi So true. Results matter, in the end.

@jasonleow Also “writing about overthinking about writing”.
