Why work so hard

Everyone asks me why I work so hard.

Even myself, sometimes.

Why do you work when you’re sick?
Give yourself a rest day.
Why do so much?
Why work yourself to the bone?
Is it really necessary?
We’re already doing okay.
Take it easy.

And @AlexHormozi had the perfect response:

Until you win, everyone asks you why you’re working so hard.
After you win, everyone asks why you’re working so hard.

True enough, it’s hard for those not in the same arena to understand.

I want to work less hard.
Honest to God, yes I do.

But it has to come at the ripe and right time.
When there’s a clear path of financial sustainability.
When I’m more diversified than all in freelance now.
When my savings are back to some reasonable level.

Drop the ball too early, and I’ll be forced to work harder still later on. I’d rather go hard now where I have some degree of control, than play catchup and survive when I don’t.

Believe me, I know.

And I will do anything to not go back there again.

The key for me is reaching the point where it no longer feels like hard work, just pure enjoyment.
