You need 5 hobbies

I came across a random nugget on the interwebs and thought I'd provide my answers.
You need 5 hobbies:
- One to make you money - I suppose my newsletter fits this category. The first two years were purely a hobby and free for all subscribers. I'm now in my second year of charging a subscription and earning more than the pennies I get from Amazon affiliate links.
- One to keep you in shape - This is tough for me, but I can safely say VR ping pong fits the bill. It would be great to find a similar hobby that I enjoy that covers the strength training side of the house.
- One to keep you creative - My newsletter and daily writing fit this category. Writing for an audience challenges my creativity, and the audio voiceovers add flourish.
- One to build knowledge - Reading and listening to podcasts would fit this one. I have more books than I'll ever be able to read, and somehow, that doesn't stop me from buying them. I also listen regularly to podcasts, usually about biohacking, but not exclusively.
- One to evolve your mindset - I would point to meditation and specific classes like Manifesting Mastery.
I sent this list to a friend, and he commented that the list is missing the most important one--spiritual evolution. My reply was that the person who wrote this list is fully steeped in the 3D physical reality.
Comments
1- I can relate to the piling up of unread books, as I wrote about in today’s post 🤣
2- I still think of these as habits, not hobbies. But MAYBE if I call them hobbies they’ll sound more fun 🤣
3- When I read Jason’s post about this I noted down that spiritual was missing (based on the 7 life areas I use to organize my life and goals), as well as recreational (doing things for FUN, which is where I think hobbies usually belong)
Nice list! Maybe I can write this out tomorrow too.
Re: the spiritual evolution one, maybe the last hobby “One to evolve your mindset” can simply be “One to evolve”… including spiritual.
