Your strength might be your weakness

The things you take pride in are the same things you are likely to be biased about.
How might the things you take pride in be misleading you?
The tighter you cling to your current identity, the harder it becomes to grow beyond it.
Agree. 1000%.
All too often, what I thought were my strengths ended up being my weaknesses.
Consistency was my strength, until it turned into stubbornness to change, despite seeing the data. Clinging on to products for waaay too long was the result.
Learning fast was my strength, until it became about the dopamine chase, not the results. All too often I lose interest before getting to the escape velocity.
Being a generalist was my strength, until I could no longer hack it like a smartass and needed to develop depth. Things often flatline fast when I needed to train on boring stuff that didn’t interest me.
Emulating my idols was my strength, until I needed to walk my own path and didn’t know what to do. Following the methods of those who succeeded before me was inspiring, but in copying them I lose my authenticity and adaptability.
As always, even good things need moderation.
Even strengths need moderation, else they become weaknesses.

@therealbrandonwilson Jim Muddled is actually pretty good, dude! You should totally start a parody account haha

“Pride cometh before the fall, so don’t take pride in anything. Only focus on improving your weaknesses until they become major liabilities. Embrace your identity if it serves you; otherwise, use your biggest strength to change it.” --Jim Muddled
