You're so lucky

You’re so lucky, they say.

But they didn’t see the days when:

  • You woke up at 4am grinding, before your real job started at 9am.
  • Fought sleep deprivation, exhaustion, baby care duties, just to ship something out.
  • Tried to keep calm and carry on when the economy went into recession and all your gigs dried up.
  • Your bank account went from happy low six figures to scary last five thousand that lasts a month.
  • Your health went sideways to chronic brainfog, fatigue and unknown aches and pains all over.
  • You feel so deflated you just want to lie in bed, but you got up, did what you needed to do, fulfilled your promises, executed on your roles and duties. So much so you are now numb.

You’re so lucky, they say.

I say, you wouldn’t want luck if you see how the sausage is made.
