Hard reset

Overheard on the interwebs today:

“If the thoughts get too big, go somewhere you feel small.”

My thoughts had got too big of late. For the past six years, in fact. I’m blocked and stuck in survival mode, because my world had shrunk so small. Monday to Friday, just my work room, sometimes my house, to the nearby coffeeshop for a bit for lunch. Weekends, to the same old hangouts and back. Every week repeated ad infinitum, ad nauseam. The same spaces, same people, same foods, same stresses, same shit. Over and over. It’s gotten to the point the only way I feel I can reset is to change my environment. Environmental cues are so powerful.

That’s why travel works so well for me.
That’s why the big relocation.

That’s why the relocation is for me as much as it is for my kid’s education.

I need a massive reset.
To expand my perspective.
To get out of old, tired loops.
To find a space to feel safe again.

Then I can thrive, again.

A hard reset. For everything.
