January 2024 wrap-up

jasonleow • 31 Jan 2024 •
My intention for January was just to listen in order to know what to do for 2024.
I think I’ve done that, when it comes to my products. I did my own thing for my products, and even though Lists Kit didn’t launch well on X, I listened and now know that I was right in my suspicion that X isn’t the channel for Lists Kit.
I listened to what my health and body needed, getting more rest, not pushing the wake times. I did what I can, tried not to fret over what I can’t control.
But I still have no clear idea what 2024 will look like.
And it’s okay.
I’m realising that deep listening is an ongoing thing. It’s not something I do for one month and call it a day. Only by listening, do I know how I should respond, what I can and need to do.
Onwards to February!

@phaidenbauer Join us! Quite a few of us shipping daily there. Might be a nice nudge.
And yes, Singapore is one of the most expensive cities in the world. It wasn’t like this growing up, but now it is what it is. 🤷♂️

I’ll consider it, once if got a more laid out plan for my projects :)

saw the “Applied for Lead/Senior Lead” , back to corp work?
@knight Not yet. Haven’t got the job. Just trying it out and keeping my options open since my financial situation isn’t improving.

I wouldn’t ask you to hold it as indie if there is a need to go back to corp to stabilise the financial situation since you are the main income that supports the whole family; anyway, family come first.
@knight Yeah bro, you understand the situation well. Family first indeed 🙌
But even if I do get a job, I’ll still want to indie hack part time. So nothing much changes actually, except less time for projects (which is what happens now anyway when I got consulting project going on). Challenge is finding an employer that allows for employees to work on revenue-generating side projects. So that I don’t have to close down anything, like Lifelog. Much harder ask, when the jobs I go for are government. Well see!

Interesting insights! I like the idea of the “#commit365 challenge” maybe I should join. :)
So Singapore is an expensive place to live?
