Don’t build a business.
Build a lifestyle that generates incomes.
@thejustinwelsh

Important distinction here.

All along I thought I wanted to build a profitable business.
All these years.

But really what I want now is a profitable lifestyle.

A lifestyle I love and enjoy, a lifestyle centred around my family, that happens to also make good enough money.

Important distinction here.

Because when I try to build a profitable business, it no longer works for me, but me working for it. I’m employee number one. There’s only one life (me) to offer to the business, and it eats into all of it.

But when I build a profitable lifestyle, the lifestyle (me) is CEO and the business works for it. I can have many employees (businesses) working for the lifestyle.

Important distinction here.

10k life > $10k MRR

Lifestyle > business

My phrase for this is, “Make a living, living.”
